The Zeughaus or the former arsenal building commissioned by Emperor Maximilian and completed at the end of the
15th century is now museum. The exhibition shows chronologically the cultural history of Tyrol. The shown artefacts
start from geological and mineral history of the region. This section emphasizes on the rich silver deposits which
turned the towns of Hall and Schwaz in great medieval powerhouses. The larger part of the museums exhibition is
devoted to the Tyrolean famous historic figure- Andreas Hofer. Vititors can see a short movie about the life of
this person too. The building has a very well equipped sound-poof hall where you can enjoy a large selection
(about 100 CDs) of Tyrolean music.
